"The Truth About Life"

© Olga Allen 2002

What of the fear,
driving us away from true life?
O, how about to dare
to stare life in the face,
lay it open, bare.
Essence unfolded, detached,
free to be without entanglement.
Does it really matter
to be loved, to be right,
or understood,
when you are true to self?
For it is then that you can choose
to love, choose to agree
or disagree without strings attached,
and for others to do the same.
Grin at one's own idiosyncrasies,
and those of others
reflected in reflections of
one's own mirrors.
Just step through them,
for essence to choose
to touch the essence of the other.
