Lindy:
- "The Twelve
Chairs" by Mel Brooks
Romp through post Czarist Russia, where ex-nobleman (Ron Moody) team
up with a rogue (Frank Langella, his introductory role I believe) to
retrieve some family jewels sown in one of the dining room chairs which
were dispersed in the revolution. Comedy from Dom Deluise as the priest
who also hears this tale in the death bed confession of the mother,
who sets out on his own quest to also retrieve this treasure. The story
is really about the growing relationship of the two men, however, and
what they learn from each other.
- "Mozart's
The Magic Flute" by Ingmar Bergman
With the Swedish Opera Company, who turn out to be pretty good actors,
and the music is grand!
- "Costa-Gravis
Z"
The political Oscar winning film of 1969, I believe it was, about how
one can be so far left one is right, and vice versa, it goes in a circle.
- "Zorba
the Greek"
Really liked the movie better than the book with this one.
- "The Lord
of the Rings" Trilogy
Jackson cared enough to actually get it mostly right!
