force is taken to another planet inhabited with humans taken from earth
about every 550 years. The rescuers turn out to be interplanetary drug
dealers and use mercenaries to grow drugs once every 550 years.

by Ken Grimwood
A fortyish man dies unexpectedly and wakes up as an 18-year-old in college
with his former life's memories intact. He then relives his life, but
makes changes that are profitable. He continues to die on the same day
in his forties. During one replay, he meets another replayer and they
get together to change the world.
- "The Rowan,"
"Damia," "Damia's Children," and "Lyon's
Pride" by Anne McCaffrey
This series is about telepathic/telekinetic people who are used for
interplanetary commerce and defense.
- "The
Stainless Steel Rat" by Harry Harrison
This is another series 30,000 years in the future. The Rat is a criminal
within a society that has personality and genetic control. If you are
even a petty criminal, your inborn personality is wiped or altered to
get rid of the criminal predisposition. The Rat evades the authorities
until he is caught by a super-secret law enforcement agency that recruits
him.
- "Team
Yankee," "Trial by Fire," "Sword Point"
by Harold Coyle
These are military fiction that begin with a theoretical WWIII. "Team
Yankee" is a tank heavy battle force. "Trial by Fire"
is about the first woman to command a mounted infantry platoon in battle.
The battle takes place between Mexico and the U.S.
- "Red Storm
Rising," "Patriot Games," "Executive Orders,"
etc. by Tom Clancy
All of Tom Clancy's books are about international intrigue, spying and
war. The main character in most of the books is Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst.
The series eventually end up with Ryan as the president of the U.S.
