Minna:
This is my list, which
clearly reveals my own interests toward on the other hand old Rome and
on the other hand Victorian England:
- "A Great
Deliverance" by Elizabeth George
Realistic and yet "traditional" British crime novel (although the author
is American :)
- "I, Claudius"
by Robert Graves
A great novel of Emperor Claudius
- "The Anubis
Gates" by Tim Powers
Sci-fi, Victorian stuff, occultism, whatnot
- "Quo Vadis"
by Henry Sienkiewicz
Great Christian book and historical novel
- "To Say Nothing
of the Dog" by Connie Willis
Sci-fi, supposedly, although quite original and more resembling a historical
novel or humour
- "Much Obliged,
Jeeves" by P. G. Wodehouse
Great piece of British humour
