Michael:
- "Island" by Aldous Huxley
One conception of utopia, this book was written by Huxley in the last
years before his death, and in my opinion is better than Brave New World
because his ideas have developed with age.
- "After Many a Summer Dies the Swan" by Aldous
Huxley
In this story, Huxley shows his perception of what ails us as a race,
and touches on a solution.
- "The Art of Loving"
by Erich Fromm
A clear description of what love is, and isn't.
- "Watership Down"
by Richard Adams
A great adventure story. Every time I read it I think, "Gee, I
wish I could write like that."
- "My Side of the Mountain"
by Jean Craighead George
As a child, this story inspired me with the dream of running away to
live off the land in the mountains. I read and re-read my first copy
until the pages separated from the spine.
